The finer details

For our Brisbane guests, the easiest plan is to fly into Avalon, hire a car, and stay in or around Ocean Grove for the weekend.

Getting there

Flying from Brisbane into Avalon is the easiest option. Avalon is approximately 45 minutes from Ocean Grove, so we recommend picking up a hire car and making the drive down. Melbourne Airport can also work if the flight times suit you better, but it is a longer drive.

Where to stay

Ocean Grove is the best option if you would like to use the wedding transport. Geelong is also an easy base for guests who are arranging their own transport.

Accommodation

Ocean Grove is more of a small coastal holiday town, so the best accommodation options are usually houses or apartments. We recommend checking Airbnb, Stayz or Booking.com. It is worth booking early so you can find somewhere close by and make a weekend of it.

We want the trip to and from the venue to feel easy, whether you are joining the wedding bus or making your own way there.

Wedding bus

We will be arranging a wedding bus with pick-up and drop-off from three locations in Ocean Grove. Exact locations and timings are still to be confirmed, and we will share these closer to the day.

Driving

Parking is available at Oneday Estate for guests who are driving to the venue. If the wine is flowing and you need to leave your car overnight, that is completely fine. Please collect it by 11am the following morning.

Uber or taxi

If you are planning to use an Uber or taxi to get home, please pre-book your ride for around 11pm. Reception near the venue can be limited, so it is best not to rely on booking one at the last minute.

Formal garden soiree. We would love everyone to dress up with us for a romantic afternoon celebration outdoors.

Colour inspiration

Garden pastels

Garden pastels suggested colours: Pastel green, Powder blue, Peach, Pastel yellow, Light lilac, Soft apricot, Pastel burgundy.

Classic neutrals

Classic neutrals suggested colours: Stone, Soft taupe, Muted olive, Chocolate, Deep navy, Grey, Black.

The vibe

Dressy, but not black tie. Soft colours, florals, classic neutrals, linen, silk, tailored pieces and dressy separates will all feel right. Think winery wedding with a garden party feel.

What to wear

Full-length and midi dresses are all welcome, as are suits or tailored separates.

Weather

Late spring weather can change quickly, and because it is Victoria, it is best to be prepared for all four seasons. Please check the forecast before you travel and bring a layer for the evening.

For anyone arriving early, we would love to spend a little extra time together over a drink in Ocean Grove.

Date and time

Thursday, 19 November 2026. Timing will be shared closer to the weekend.

Location

The Dunes Ocean Grove, 30 Surf Beach Road, Ocean Grove VIC 3226.

The plan

Join us for a relaxed drink before the wedding weekend begins.

Dinner

Guests are welcome to stay for dinner if they would like. We will share booking details once plans are confirmed.

Our love story

Starting 2022 with a first date on New Year's Day was a bold choice, and both Jessie and Sean made a memorable first impression. Sean arrived in a moon boot, while Jessie managed to spill her drink over herself and the table within the first five minutes. Despite the slightly chaotic start, the conversation flowed effortlessly. One drink turned into dinner, and from there, everything began to fall naturally into place.

Over the years, their relationship grew through shared adventures, overseas travels, countless restaurants, plenty of gin and wine bars, endless laughter and the life they built together.

Then, on a beach in Aitutaki in the Cook Islands, Sean asked the question that would begin their next chapter.

Now, nearly five years after they first met, Jessie and Sean are ready to begin married life surrounded by the people they love most.

we can't wait to celebrate with you

Built with love by Sean, and expertly project managed by Jessie.
